You will then be whisked away to your cozy hotel accommodation. As the sun sets, we will conduct final checks and preparations for the upcoming journey. Later in the evening, join us for a debriefing session on the thrilling Kokoda campaign. Your experienced trek leader will ensure your safety with a detailed briefing and share fascinating insights into the Koiari/Orokaiva cultures along the trail. Begin with a scenic bus ride to the domestic terminal, where your flight awaits to take you over the majestic Owen Stanley Ranges via the Kagi Gap to Poponedetta (Girua Aiport). Marvel at the breathtaking views during the 15-20 minute flight.

Upon arrival in Kokoda, meet your knowledgeable PNG trek guides and porters who will accompany you on this unforgettable adventure. Take some time to visit the Kokoda War Museum and pay respects at the Australian and Japanese memorials. Explore the monuments, memorials, and museum, gaining insights into the significant events that unfolded here during World War II.

Your trek leader will provide a briefing on Kokoda's wartime history, setting the scene for your journey ahead. Departing from Kokoda station, you'll walk along flat land, retracing the footsteps of the diggers through the old rubber plantation and Kovello village. Along the way, soak in the scenery and immerse yourself in the stories of courage and resilience.

As you make your way towards Deneki, pause at Hoi Village for a refreshing swim and a leisurely lunch. Continue onwards to Deneki, where the first battle post-Australian withdrawal from Kokoda took place. Enjoy a spectacular view of Kokoda Station before settling in for a well-deserved night's rest.

Arrival at Isurava Battlefield: Continue your ascent towards the solemn Isurava Battlefield, where you'll be greeted by the magnificent Isurava memorial. This site holds profound historical significance, having been opened by Prime Ministers Sir Michael Somare and The Hon John Howard to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the battle in August 2002.
