Later on, gather for a debriefing on the upcoming trek and an enlightening overview of the Kokoda campaign. Your experienced trek leader will also conduct a safety briefing and share fascinating insights into the Koiari Orokaiva cultures you'll encounter along the way. Get pumped as your trek leader hands out backpacks, offering personalized assistance in fitting and adjusting them perfectly for the journey ahead!

Discover the rich heritage of Kokoda on Day 2 of your expedition through this historic region. Begin with a scenic bus ride to the domestic terminal, where a private charter flight will transport you over the Owen Stanley Ranges via the Kagi Gap to Kokoda. Take advantage of the short 15-20 minute flight to soak in the stunning aerial views.
Upon arrival in Kokoda, be greeted by your expert PNG trek guides and porters, who will be your companions on this unforgettable journey. Take time to explore the Kokoda War Museum and pay homage at the Australian and Japanese memorials, gaining a deeper understanding of the area's significance during World War II.
Set off from Kokoda station, following in the footsteps of the courageous diggers as you trek across flat terrain and through the remnants of the old rubber plantation and Kovello village. Along the way, absorb the serenity of the landscape and reflect on the stories of bravery from the past.
At Hoi Village, take a break to enjoy a leisurely swim and a delicious lunch, immersing yourself in the local culture. Then, continue onwards to Deneki, where history comes to life with the remnants of the first battle post-Australian withdrawal from Kokoda. Take in the sweeping vistas of Kokoda Station before retiring for the evening in Deneki.
